Originaire de M\u00e2con, L\u00e9on Couturier d\u00e9bute sa formation \u00e0 l’\u00c9cole des beaux-arts de Lyon, puis la poursuit \u00e0 Paris dans l’atelier d’Alexandre Cabanel. Sa participation \u00e0 la d\u00e9fense de la capitale lors du si\u00e8ge de Paris par les Prussiens, en 1870, lui inspira de nombreuses toiles consacr\u00e9es aux soldats et \u00e0 la vie militaire, bien qu’il se soit \u00e9galement adonn\u00e9 \u00e0 des sc\u00e8nes de genre plus paisibles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
